Howdens Joinery are looking for a Test Environments and Project Release Lead based at our Northampton or Howden, Yorkshire office. This role is within the IS Infrastructure Testing and Assurance team, responsible for testing Howdens Joinery systems. In your role, you will be instrumental in developing our non-production testing landscape to ensure it is fit for current and future needs, maturing governance and leveraging technologies to better support software delivery. You will also be facilitating the improvement of test quality and coverage to support a wide range of test activities including manual, automation and performance testing. The role will involve a high level of collaboration, stakeholder management, analysis and communication to define the required data and environment changes to drive efficiencies. As a Test Environments and Project Release Lead, you will take ownership in the delivery of these changes, identifying the resources required and realising the benefits that you will have outlined in the business case. You will need to be highly organised, pro-active, be able to work independently, making the ambiguous clear through an excellently communicated plan of action, having reached consensus and gained support from key stakeholders. As Test Environments and Project Release Lead, you will Support our obligations for data minimisation, integrity & confidentiality under GDPR legislation Create strategic direction of test environment and test data usage Develop and maintain appropriate polices, strategies, processes and procedures for the management and control of test environments and test data across platforms and evaluate the performance of these to ensure test data security is maintained Establish, improve and maintain test data quality and data and information access, retention and classification Develop and maintain the test data catalogue, and its coverage of the technology landscape, and end-to-end test data flows/transformations Contribute to and work with the architectural forums with regard to test environments and test data to develop a collaborative and aligned approach Organise and implement correct test data collection policies and processes and procedures and ensure that the same are applied and enforced Develop data collection methods that are individually relevant to any project Knowledge & Experience A Bachelor's degree in any of data management analysis, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, or other IT-related field or equivalent relevant experience At least three years relevant experience Understanding of Information Systems and how they use data and information Results-oriented, diligent, and work with a sense of urgency Assertive, responsible for own work (self-directed), have a strong affinity for defining work in deliverables, and be willing to commit to deadlines Extensive knowledge and expertise in data modelling and data management A comprehensive understanding of data regulations and best practice Experience of the development of business cases supporting investment and change Planning and scheduling of Data & Environmental resources An understanding of different development methods - Agile, Waterfall and their data and environment needs Risk mitigation and managing treatment plans Creation of Test Data catalogues and documentation Measuring the effectiveness of technical controls Environment Management and controlling user access to test environments Howdens Joinery is a highly successful business, with more than 780 depots nationwide and more than 10,000 staff.
